After less than 30 shots the batteries went dead and Amazon gave me no access to lodge a battery complaint. The only alternative for me was to return the camera which was not defective as were the batteries. I chose to replace the batteries rather than return the camera. I suggest that there be a battery replacement guarantee for the first month.

I’m checking the Consumer Guide magazine July 2009 “CR Best Buy” and under the COMPACT on page 28, it’s the Canon Power Shot A590IS; and the price range is $110. The overall score for this camera is a 70. Why is the Amazon price so much higher? Did someone make a mistake?

1. I expected that 12.1 MP would give a good quality pictures. I have been somewhat disappointed. Too much noise and when it is little dark, the quality is awful.
2. It is pretty big as compared to similar models and not very portable.
3. The memory is has is small, prepare to invest into a bigger memory. There is no place if you want to record a video.
4. The camera arrived quickly so I give them credit for this.

The camera is ok. I have not taken any great WOW inspiring pictures. Have not used it as much as I would like to in order to figure out all the little tricks. Was supposed to be point and shoot, so far not seeing that. It took forever to get the camera. That was biggest disappointment. Will use camera more in coming days to get a true feel of how it works.

Great price. It did not arrive in time for the birthday but I should have changed the shipping rate!
