Excellent topic of photo interest but short on details. I found that several parts of the book strayed from the book’s title. Did not believe that the book was as good of a source of information as it could have been.

The book only really highligted the really excellent and detailed instruction into flash photography he gives on his webpage. After spending a couple of years hitting his webpage, the book was anti-climactic. In his defense, I suspect the book would have to be much thicker and expensive to cover everything he covers on the webpage.

Neil is not only an awesome photographer but the undisputed king of onboard flash and the master of the BFT (black foamie thing). This book is a great read for those wanting to master using flash ever so subtly to add a kiss of light to photos without that tacky “flashed” look. Filled with awesome shots and technical detail. Highly recommend!

Great Book and a must have for any photographer. I have purchased several photography books over the years and this by far is one of the best. Insightful and educational.
